mistahphil: Rare art of the day: Pages 4 & 5 from ‘Beer Bottle Blues’ by David Mazzucchelli, done for Kodansha, c. 1995-96 (sides unfortunately cropped), presented in proper right-to-left format.Since interest in the last post here was so high, (thank you, Tom Spurgeon at The Comics Reporter), today’s post offers a bit more from the same strip.‘Beer Bottle Blues’ was a 6-page strip created for Kodansha’s Morning magazine between 1995 and 1996. I don’t believe it was ever published in the US. I wish the images I have did not have the sides cropped a bit, but it’s all I have ever seen. Were pages from the strip exhibited at his 2009 ‘Sounds and Pauses’ show at MoCCA? If anyone has more information on this strip, please feel free to share.
